Mooring cafe and swimming with a turtle and testing in Raro
turn off background music if you don’t want to listen to it
The Mooring cafe down the road from Muri has fresh fish on their menu. the tuna sandwiches are deliciuos, and you are 10 meters from the beach with a few small islands you can walk/swim to when the tide is low

Mooring cafe
went for a swim on the 18th and also spotted a turtle !

Testing in Rarotonga after 16 August, very confusing for people on holiday here because the Cook Island ministry keeps on changing the to be targeted people. first everyone here had to be tested, then only the people that had been in areas of interest in New Zealand, then back to everyone here. endresult is that some people flying back to New Zealand are getting stuck at the airport because they havent been tested and are not allowed to board.places of interest keep on changing in New Zealand so they should have stuck with everyone to be tested. In my opinion they rely to much on tourists to report to the testing stations themselves. Some people here that have been tested are being told to selfisolate until they get the results back and others are being told they can go about as usual until they get the results back. Some people are being told they have to find out results contacting authorities themselves, others being told they will be contacted. A lot of contradiction and confusion here. We,( Lindsay and Bob) do not have to be tested because we are outside the period of people arriving here that potentially need to be tested.(2 august- 16 august). But dont we have to be tested because we have been mingling with people her in Rarotonga ? We should be tested before we hop on the plane back home !?
21 August; Astrid, Phil, Joe, Jill, Lindsay and Bob went swimming near the Avaavaroa channel and saw a turtle that wasn’t scared at all and allowed us to get very close.

22 August; Lindsay and Bob went swimming near the Avaavaroa channel and Bob took some underwater videos.
23 August; “listen to the rain”
