Chapter 4 Start acrylic painting and Raemaru trek

**Basic first attempt seascape with acrylics, about 30 minutes and tried to work wet in wet**

The start of the track is easy to find, in the south end of the Island going anti clockwise from Castaway resort, you find Akaoa nr 1 rd, 50 meters from Castaway.

You follow that rd till the end and then turn right and directly left you turn into Raemaru heights rd and follow that to the end, which is only a few hundred meters.

Then you get to a sort of “carpark” and from there you start walking,

after some 50 meters you come to this sign which is the official start of the track, on the left 30 meters from the sign there should be a small river but depending on the weather it could be dry, I cleaned my boots and myself after return

in the first part of the track I saw lots and lots of butterflys, you can see them in the undergrowth of the bush when sunny

the track zigzags a bit for the first 10 minutes and then you come to a clearing on the left, from which you have a nice view of the south coast close to Castaway area.

Then after another 10 minutes you get to some rocks with ropes and metal hooks, not difficult but make sure you have 3 points of contact all the time
