Here I’m trying to create a minor promotion in this case a knight on f8 with a potential checkmate on g6 but its by a long shot not correct, can you help me to make it correct ?
The making of a minor promotion problem !
In the following position I’m working on making this self composed problem correct. The task is to come to a minor promotion and following checkmate procedure. When running it through chess analysis it comes with white moving his rook to a6 so it can drop on g6 which is not supposed to be possible,
so we can put another white pawn on a6 to make this not possible, will the problem be correct now ? We seem to be getting closer to a solution, but there are 3 variations now of which the first one is the shortest and not supposed to be part of the solution because it starts with Kg6 and checkmate in 7. The other 2 solutions are interesting because they can both start with a minor promotion either Nc8 or Bc8 both in 8 moves so we still have to eliminate the Kg6 option.
We can put a black pawn on e6 to eliminate the Kg6 option and I think we should put the white bishop on e5 making it not possible for black to have more variations with moving the e6 pawn, so now we have the following position; we run this through our chess analysis and now we get the following variations;
1.c8=N Bf7+ 2.Rxf7 Kg8 3.Kg6 Rh8 4.Ne7##
1.c8=B Bf7+ 2.Rxf7 Kg8 3.Kg6 Rh8 4.Bd6 Rh7 5.Rf8##
So now the problem task is; white starts and checkmates in 4;
